My trip to the Maritime Museum (Sorry for the mistakes I was in a rush)

On monday the 29th, my class and I went to the Maritime Museum. There were wakas, waka workshops and a gallery. We all had different groups with different parent helpers from our students. In the morning we all hopped on the bus and drove to Maritime museum. When we arrived there was a guy waiting for us. He did a little introduction then we set off to get started. My group was first exploring their gallery. It was pretty cool. After that we went on the waka. Firstly THEY did an introduction then we got straight to it. We got a little exploration of the waka. Heres a picture of the boys and the waka. Continuing after the exploration we played the direction game. We were jumping around in different directions and our winners were JJ and someone else. Secondly we played reef not which is were you vs each other to see who could tie a reef knot the fatest. I won all the comps even the one at the end of the day against Layarnah.

Cricket Team's Certificates

On the 23rd of March glentaylor's cricket team represented our school at the "Hooked on Cricket" sports day held at Kolmar Center Papatoetoe. Unfortunately our teams did not win any games. Except for the school final. Our teams were Glentaylor 1(room 5) and Glentaylor 2 (room 6). The winning team was Glentaylor 2, 2 days after that at my assembly, both the teams got certificates. Fortunately we were on tv!

Our papa tapa cloths

Here is our tapa cloths together. We all made this by getting 2 pieces of paper, we used one piece of paper for the background and the other for the design on top.

Tapa Cloths

Our Tapa cloths, here is our tapa cloth that we made yesterday with our amazing reliever.

All we did was get some paper with a rectangle in the middle with some lines on the sides.

We designed it then put vivid over it so that when we colored it with the dye it wouldn't smudge, like it would with a black marker.

Then once we were finished we went to the dyeing table. When our name got called we would get up and head over to the table that had the dye on it. We scrunched it up and unscrunched it, without ripping it.

Then we started dyeing them, sometimes the dye would go into little creases on the paper, if it we had to leave it there because it would make a more realistic type of texture.

Sensory Poem Lock down Edition

I see work on the screen of my chrome book

I hear birds from my balcony

I smell cat poo in my hand being taken outside

I taste fresh Mary red apples

I can touch my chrome book keyboards

Inside I feel relaxed

Lockdown Things I Need To Improve

I am working on being on time and staying still.

Though I still definitely enjoy being on class and seeing everyone.

I cannot wait until next week for a new day of school, and getting to see everyone in real life and having fun.
